Principal's Message

 

Dear Mt. Washington Community,  

I am honored to join Mt. Washington as your new principal. It is a privilege to lead a school with such dedicated students, an exceptional staff, and a supportive community. I feel fortunate to be part of this environment and to support the students and families of such an outstanding community. 

This year marks my 22nd year in the district, where I have had the pleasure of working with students from grades K-5. I began my journey as a teacher in the West region, teaching for 10 years before becoming a coordinator for four years. I later transitioned to Region East as a TSP coordinator to be closer to home. A few years later, I was promoted to Assistant Principal in Region South within the San Pedro network and subsequently served as the Assistant Principal at Mountain View in region North. My experience across all four regions has equipped me with valuable insights into collaborating with diverse communities to achieve a common goal focused on student achievement. 

As the principal of Mt. Washington, I will leverage these experiences to partner with you in ensuring your child's success. My objective is to cultivate a culture of collaboration, communication, and mutual respect among the school, parents, and the community. 

I believe every child deserves a high-quality education, and all students can thrive when provided with excellent instruction, meaningful relationships, and a safe learning environment. I am committed to ensuring that Mt. Washington offers an enriching and supportive learning atmosphere for all students.

Our aim is to create a safe, secure, and nurturing environment that promotes both academic and social-emotional development. At Mt. Washington, we encourage students to take risks, accept challenges, and learn from their mistakes—because this is where true learning begins. We firmly believe that all children can succeed, and it is a privilege to work with your child(ren) in their pursuit of becoming their best selves. 

Your support will be pivotal in achieving these objectives. Your active involvement, collaboration, and commitment creates the foundation for our students' success. Together, we can ensure that every decision aligns with the needs of our students and community. 

I am eager and excited to embark on what promises to be a successful year. This school year brings new opportunities for growth, stronger relationships, and the chance to make a meaningful impact on the lives of our students.
